Cameron Thomson, MD
Biography
Hometown: Madison, CT
Undergraduate: McGill University
Medical School: UMass Med School
Medical Areas of Interest: I like all areas of orthopedics at the moment, and I’m looking forward to exploring all of the specialties during residency. Outside of orthopedics, I am also really interested in medical history and love learning about the discovery of diseases, techniques, and treatments.
Interests/Hobbies: I like to run and play music (I play trumpet and piano). I also recently bought a house and have been enjoying doing small housework projects and yardwork.
Why did you choose Brown? I chose Brown because I was really impressed with the overall structure of the program (including the 6th year trauma fellowship), the research opportunities, and the collegiality amongst the residents.
What do you like about Providence/Rhode Island? I love the size of Providence and its awesome and accessible downtown area. I also like that it’s located on the coastline. It’s close to my family and all of the great things that New England has to offer.
What are your goals for the future? I don’t know what area of orthopedics I want to specialize in yet, but regardless I hope to be a skilled surgeon who enjoys operating and helping patients get back to the prior level of function.
