The inaugural Department of Orthopaedic Research Summer Leadership Academy (DORSAL) presentations were carried out on Friday, August 16th at the Weiss Lab. The program is for high school students, and seven local high school students spent five weeks in the orthopedic lab learning about basic science research. Students ‘posters were on display for discussion with staff and guests. Visitors to the event included the students’ high school teachers, Orthopedic Research Lab staff members, and Rhode Island Lieutenant Governor, the Honorable Sabina Matos.

Dr. Dio Garcia oversees this program with a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation. Congratulations to the students and to Dr. Garcia for making this program such a success!
