Why did you choose Brown? Brown had the perfect blend of everything I was looking for in a program. The culture here stood out from the start and was unmatched in my opinion. The people here are very hardworking, but down to earth, humble, and look after each other. There is a great deal of camaraderie amongst residents and their families, and between residents and attendings as well. There is a high trauma volume, exposure to every subspecialty, and exposure to academic, community, and private models. From an orthopaedic perspective, it was one of the most well-balanced programs I came across. As a New England native, the location in Rhode Island with proximity to beaches, nature, and family was also a huge bonus.
What do you like about Providence/Rhode Island? There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, biking and running trails, and access to just about everything you could want in Providence, but the smaller size makes it very livable. Rhode Island in general has fantastic beaches and access to the outdoors.
What are your goals for the future? To become a compassionate, skilled orthopaedic surgeon, deliver the highest quality care to patients and their families, and be there for my family and friends.
