Why did you choose Brown?: I was looking for a program that offered high operative volume, extensive trauma exposure, and opportunities to explore the range of orthopaedic practice models - preferably in a livable city. Brown fulfilled all of these requirements. PLUS, Brown offered a group of incredibly down-to-earth and supportive residents. Other bonuses included opportunities for international work, dedicated time for research, and the trauma fellowship. Lastly, the department and program leadership have a reputation for being responsive to resident feedback and making positive changes every year to optimize education.

What do you like about Providence/Rhode Island? I like that Providence feels like a city, without a lot of the headaches that city life can bring. Most of the time, you can get anywhere in 15 minutes or less. Rhode Island offers all four seasons, a variety of dining opportunities, access to tons of beaches, and fairly affordable housing compared to the surrounding states.

What are your goals for the future? To make meaningful contributions to the field of orthopaedics through mentorship and research. To become a confident, skilled surgeon that patients can count on. To have a fulfilling practice and personal life, which will probably involve corgis and a home in the mountains.
