Orthopaedics hosts 63rd Annual Murray S. Danforth Oration

The Department of Orthopaedics held its 63rd Annual Murray S. Danforth Oration on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the Warren Alpert Medical School. This year’s visiting professor was Ryan P. Calfee, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chief of the Division of Hand, Wrist, and Microsurgery at Washington University School of Medicine. This year's orthopaedic trauma fellows presented the projects they completed during their residency, followed by engaging question-and-answer discussions.

Dr. Calfee completed both his orthopaedic residency training and orthopaedic trauma fellowship at Brown, making it especially meaningful to welcome him back as this year’s Danforth speaker.
