The AOFAS Medical Student Outreach Committee and AOFAS Health Education, Access & Leadership (HEAL) Committee, along with Brown Department of Orthopaedics, hosted a Medical Student BioSkills Workshop on Saturday, April 11 at our Kettle Point location. Medical students from throughout the Northeast spent the day with our Residency Program Director, Dr. Raymond Hsu, as well as several of our residency alumni and other AOFAS members from throughout the country.
AOFAS orthopaedic skills workshops offer opportunities for medical students to gain hands-on experience with orthopaedic instruments and techniques. The half-day workshop included a series of "challenges" using orthopaedic power tools, followed by a sawbones lab where AOFAS faculty guided attendees through orthopaedic foot and ankle procedures in interactive small groups.
